Most frequent questions
Is there a waitlist?
No. We know how important it is for you to get help as quickly as possible when you decide you’re ready. So, we do not keep a waitlist. If we can’t schedule you as quickly as you need, we’ll offer you referrals to other therapists who may be able to help you.
How much do you charge?
The cost for a 50 minute session ranges from $125 -$200 depending on the type of therapy provided. Counselling is a health service, so there is no tax.
What Hours Do you work?
I generally work Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays. On these days, I am available from 7am-9pm. To book an earlier appointment on these days, email or call.
What about my insurance?
If you have insurance through your employer health benefits, check to ensure that a social worker is covered. I do have a master’s degree (known as an MSW) if that is a requirement.
I can bill direct to Co-operators, Equitable Life, NexgenRX, and Greenshield. I will submit the claim. Any amount not covered directly is covered by you through either cash or etransfer.
What types of therapies do you use?
I am well versed in the following modalities:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),
FLASH
Progressive Counting, as well as
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and
Dialetical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
What are your payment terms?
Just like when you get your nails done, have a massage or get your car’s oil changed, payment is required the day of your appointment. Payments can be made with cash, or etransfer. A receipt will be given after payment, or annually if you do not submit to insurance. All amounts paid that have not been covered by a 3rd party at the end of the year can be submitted as a health expense on your income tax.

Sometimes the best way to answer your questions for you just to give me a shout.
